Transformation in practice

Complex transformation rarely fails because organisations lack ambition. It stalls when priorities compete, decisions are fragmented, technology and people are not aligned, or change does not take root in everyday work.

At eXcelleRes, we connect strategy, portfolio choices, leadership, technology and organisational change with practical execution. Our approach builds on professional assignments across critical infrastructure, digital platforms, media, financial services and the public sector, alongside international experience in transformation, consulting, capability development and leadership.

The examples below show the kinds of environments and problems we know from practice. Named assignments reflect the relevant experience of a partner, including work undertaken in individual professional capacities. We explain contributions and learning without attributing unverified commercial outcomes to a client or to the partnership as a whole.

Energy infrastructure

Keeping essential operations running while modernising the way teams deliver. Energy networks operate in a demanding environment: reliable services are non-negotiable, enterprise systems are deeply interconnected and transformation must continue without disrupting daily operations.

Our relevant experience includes a 2024–2026 assignment at Alliander, where one of our partners supported SAP ECC and related DevOps teams in an Agile Coach and Scrum Master capacity. The setting involved enterprise applications, operational stakeholders, competing priorities, incidents, inter-team dependencies and new work-management capabilities.

Our approach: connect operational realities to portfolio and product priorities; help teams and stakeholders make dependencies visible; improve planning, backlog refinement, decision-making and collaboration; and strengthen capabilities and ownership so that change remains workable beyond individual ceremonies. This experience also includes supporting the formation of a Work Management System platform team.

What this demonstrates: the ability to work across business-critical technology, delivery and organisational boundaries, balancing continuity with change. Specific improvements in lead time, incident performance or financial value are not claimed without verified baseline and outcome evidence.

Internet infrastructure

Connecting specialist teams, product priorities and the reliability of digital infrastructure. In internet infrastructure, a seemingly local change can have effects across platforms, customers, processes and operational teams. Effective transformation depends on clarity across these interfaces.

Our relevant experience includes assignments at AMS-IX during 2022–2024, supporting specialist technology and product teams through coaching and cross-functional delivery. The work touched several domains, including customer-facing platforms, data and process management, technology migration, technical debt and team-level ways of working.

Our approach: build shared understanding of outcomes, improve stakeholder and backlog alignment, surface cross-team dependencies, strengthen effective collaboration and introduce practical improvement cycles. We focus on the coordination between the teams as much as on what happens within an individual team.

What this demonstrates: experience in environments where product and technology strategy must translate into dependable, coordinated execution, without presenting delivery activity itself as proof of quantified business benefits.

Finance, media and government

Making digital strategy operational across business, technology and organisational boundaries. Relevant professional experience includes assignments in media and digital business, financial services and the public sector, where different priorities, legacy systems, governance and stakeholder interests must be brought together.

In media, this includes experience associated with DPG Media/Sanoma covering digital initiatives, e-commerce, portfolio and project coordination, and capability development. Public-sector experience includes organisational knowledge-management and cross-disciplinary change contexts, including work associated with Amsterdam-Amstelland Police. Work across financial and government environments adds familiarity with accountability, regulatory constraints and the importance of realistic execution.

Our approach: translate strategic intent into a manageable portfolio, clarify ownership and decision rights, bring business and technology professionals together, and develop the capabilities needed for a change to be adopted rather than simply launched.

What this demonstrates: versatility in complex, stakeholder-rich organisations. These are selected individual professional experiences, not a claim that every partner worked for every organisation or that specific outcomes have been independently validated.

How we evidence results

We distinguish activities completed, changes adopted and business outcomes evidenced. When scoping an engagement, we seek a credible starting point, clear ownership and context-appropriate measures such as service reliability, lead time, adoption, quality or value.

We do not invent results: a credible case explains what changed, what evidence is available and what remains uncertain.

Enterprise technology

Enterprise technology must serve business outcomes, not become a transformation goal in itself. Across work with ERP environments, enterprise platforms, customer-facing applications and digital delivery, we recognise how integration constraints, operational continuity, technical debt and unclear ownership affect strategic choices.

We help connect architects, product leaders, operational teams, business owners and sponsors around the same objectives. Rather than impose a methodology, we make trade-offs explicit, clarify dependencies and help establish a realistic sequence of change. Agile and DevOps are useful where they improve delivery and learning; they are not the value proposition.

Change and adoption

Change succeeds when people change how work gets done. Our professional background spans organisational development, coaching, team facilitation, capability building and leadership, as well as training and teaching in management and transformation contexts.

We begin by asking what people must do differently, who influences adoption and what stands in the way. We engage sponsors, managers, practitioners and suitable early adopters, test improvements in small steps, gather feedback and adjust processes, responsibilities and support. We judge progress through observable behaviour and relevant business outcomes, not workshop attendance or programme milestones alone.

Cross-functional execution

Execution often slows down between the boxes of the organisation chart. The handovers between strategy and portfolio, portfolio and product, business and technology, and programme change and daily operations are where competing priorities and unresolved decisions accumulate.

Our experience includes coordinating digital initiatives, supporting delivery and technology teams, and working in leadership and interim operational settings. We help organisations establish shared outcomes, practical governance, transparent priorities and a manageable rhythm for escalation and review. The goal is fewer organisational obstacles and stronger internal capacity to execute — not more governance for its own sake.

What credible cases include

What should a credible case prove? We separate five things: (1) the organisational challenge and starting conditions; (2) the assignment and our actual contribution; (3) decisions, interventions and changes in working practice; (4) business outcomes supported by records or measurements; and (5) remaining uncertainty, external influences and limitations.

These profiles describe selected experience that informs eXcelleRes. They are not presented as independently audited impact studies. Client-specific results, savings or performance percentages will only be added when suitable evidence and publication permissions are available. We believe responsible claims build stronger client trust than impressive but unverifiable numbers.
